Important Update: Cloud Drive Mapper V2 deprecation
Following the initial announcement of V2’s upcoming deprecation on the 31st March 2026, we wanted to provide some further clarification around deprecation and what is happening over the coming months.
For full clarity, Deprecation means:
- CDM V2 will no longer receive any maintenance updates or bug fixes.
- CDM V2 will no longer be in scope of our Service Level Agreement.
- We will still provide basic support, but it will be advisory only.
- The CDM V2 client will continue to work. Users will still be able to login, validate their licence key, retrieve mapping configurations, and – providing Microsoft doesn’t make any breaking changes – it should continue to function in the way it did before 31st March.
Following Deprecation, CDM V2 will continue to be functional until 30th June 2026.
On the 30th June 2026, CDM V2 will reach Service Termination. This will mean that all the cloud services that currently support CDM V2 (aka CDM Legacy) will be disabled and removed.
After 30th June, CDM V2 will no longer work at all. Users will no longer be able to login to CDM V2, validate their V2 licence keys, retrieve V2 configurations or get V2 drive mappings. In addition to this, all references to CDM V2/CDM Legacy will then be removed from Iris, which after 30th June will only show information relating to CDM V3 (or above).
We strongly recommend all customers upgrade to CDM V3 by the 31st March deprecation date, however we do also recognise that in some cases it may be challenging to do so. The additional 3 months until the end of June will hopefully – by the grace of Microsoft – give you some more leeway to make the change.
If you have any questions about the upgrade process from V2 to V3, the first place we recommend you look is this dedicated section on our new knowledge base – which includes a recording of a webinar we ran covering the process: https://cdm.iamcloud.info/docs/Content/Upgrade/Upgrade_WithTiles.htm
However if you still have questions, our support team are available to help out however they can. You can reach them at support@iamcloud.com
