Important: Cloud Drive Mapper V2 deprecation update
28 JANUARY 2026 · BY THE IAM CLOUD TEAM
Following the initial announcement of V2's upcoming deprecation on 31st March 2026, we wanted to provide some further clarification around what deprecation means and what is happening over the coming months.
What deprecation means
For full clarity, deprecation means:
- From 31st March 2026, CDM V2 is no longer in active development or supported.
- The associated cloud services that V2 depends on will continue to run, but only for a limited grace period.
- Customers should plan to move to CDM V3 ahead of the deprecation date.
V2 will continue to function until 30th June 2026
Following deprecation, CDM V2 will continue to be functional until 30th June 2026.
30th June 2026: Service Termination
On 30th June 2026, CDM V2 will reach Service Termination. This will mean that all the cloud services that currently support CDM V2 (aka CDM Legacy) will be disabled and removed.
After 30th June, CDM V2 will no longer work at all. Users will no longer be able to log in to CDM V2, validate their V2 licence keys, retrieve V2 configurations or get V2 drive mappings. In addition, all references to CDM V2 / CDM Legacy will be removed from Iris, which after 30th June will only show information relating to CDM V3 (or above).
Our recommendation
We strongly recommend all customers upgrade to CDM V3 by the 31st March deprecation date. We do also recognise that in some cases it may be challenging to do so. The additional three months until the end of June will hopefully, by the grace of Microsoft, give you some more leeway to make the change.
Upgrade resources
If you have any questions about the upgrade process from V2 to V3, the first place we recommend you look is this dedicated section on our knowledge base, which includes a recording of a webinar covering the process: cdm.iamcloud.info/docs/Content/Upgrade/Upgrade_WithTiles.htm.
However if you still have questions, our support team are available to help out however they can. You can reach them at support@iamcloud.com.
