System Integration & Identity Management

IAM Cloud’s identity management engine isn’t based around simple Active Directory synchronisation like DirSync and Azure AD. IAM Cloud is an intelligent, fully integrated identity system. It can draw data from an unlimited number of sources, apply logic-based processes to the data, and provision to data to an unlimited number of destinations. Everything can be customised to your needs, and it’s amazingly simple to achieve powerful results. IAM Cloud has a continuous heart-beat that sense changes across a wide number and variety of systems – when it detects a change, it uses programmed intelligence to decide how to process the data. IAM Cloud can securely flow data between thousands of disparate on-premises and cloud-based systems.

How it works

IAM Cloud takes data from the real sources of truth within your organization – for your employee data that’s likely to be your central HRM system. Here’s an example scenario of what IAM Cloud can do…

When a new Marketing Manager joins your organization, they provide information to HR, which is entered into the WorkDay HRM system. As soon as the data is entered into WorkDay, IAM Cloud detects the change. It then securely draws across a number of the employee’s key attributes (e.g. Full name, Department, Level of Seniority) from WorkDay and stores them in the IAM Cloud Vault. From here, IAM Cloud then provisions the data back down into your Active Directory and uses custom naming rules to generate an email address, and follows your specific policies for password provisioning. From here, IAM Cloud then licenses your employee for Office 365 (which is used by all your employees) and Dynamics CRM (because the user is classified within the Marketing Team). IAM Cloud then provisions the user into Office 365, Dynamics CRM, SharePointFreshDesk, GoToMeeting, a SQL database used by your Parking Permit system, and finally a legacy custom on-premise application that uses LDAP. Because your employee is in the Marketing Team, they are automatically provided with mapped drives to their own personal OneDrive for Business and to the Marketing Team’s SharePoint Library. The employee also has Enterprise-grade Single Sign On activated for when they access their applications. Finally, because the data held within Dynamics CRM contains highly sensitive and confidential customer data in it, IAM Cloud also activates Multi-Factor Authentication for the employee when they attempt to access Dynamics CRM, adding an additional level of security to your critical data.

Everything described above happened automatically because a member of the HR Team entered a new record on WorkDay. The reverse process would happen if a member of staff left the organisation, or alternatively the same automation would take place if a member of staff moved from one department or job role to another. This is the power of IAM Cloud.
