Cloud Drive Mapper Legacy (Latest version: 2.21)
We’ve officially reached the commercial soft-launch of Cloud Drive Mapper V3 (our next generation client that no longer uses webdav), which means we’re starting the process of migrating customers to our new CDM V3 platform. Unfortunately it won’t be possible for us to simply open the flood-gates to over 3000 organizations. So we are going to work in phases, starting small to ensure we can give customers the time and help they require. As we get into the swing of things, we’ll increase capacity until we reach the full “public” launch of the new technology around the end of the year.
For the most part, even from the pre-release, Cloud Drive Mapper V3 should be able to fully replace V2 with only a couple of minor exceptions – deficits we’re backfilling now. But for any customers that would like to use Cloud Drive Mapper V2 and V3 together in the meantime, it is possible to do so.
Please note however because application names in Windows have to be unique we’re taking the decision to rename the V2 version of Cloud Drive Mapper to Cloud Drive Mapper Legacy. Going forwards Cloud Drive Mapper V3 will just be called Cloud Drive Mapper.
So in order to run V2 and V3 together you’ll need to also upgrade your current version of CDM V2.x to V2.21 or above (aka Cloud Drive Mapper Legacy). You can find the latest V2 client in our legacy resource centre https://resources.iamcloud.net/
Important note (especially for VDI deployments): CDM Legacy installs to a different Programs Files path to previous CDM versions – C:\Program Files\IAM Cloud\Cloud Drive Mapper Legacy – This might require you to update your custom scripts/methods for launching CDM.
