Cloud Drive Mapper v2.8.10.1 (Critical Release)

IMPORTANT: Cloud Drive Mapper contains a critical update to its authentication header request parameters in-line with new SharePoint Online prerequisites. Without the updated header, authentication to SharePoint may fail.
  • Yes, highly recommended.
Important detail!

For customers upgrading from 2.8 or above: This release contains a fix to AAD permissions, which requires the regranting of approval for our Azure AD Enterprise Application. This can be done in the AAD Admin Portal > Enterprise Applications. Locate the Cloud Drive Mapper app that is already installed in your tenancy, navigate to ‘Permissions’, and hit the button ‘Grant admin consent for (tenancy name)’.

For customers upgrading from versions below 2.8: You will need to go through the full AAD enterprise app approval workflow (see knowledge base article).

If you have any hesitations or questions please contact our support team at before making any changes.
As always: Please ensure to run the new client in a sandbox environment first to ensure it still works properly with your IT environment before pushing a mass rollout.

Full Release Notes

  1. Critical update to authentication header request parameters to meet new prerequisites from SharePoint Online. Why did Microsoft change these requirements? MS does not generally publish background details on its technical decisions, but due to the urgency and nature of the change we suspect it is related to improving SharePoint’s security. Fortunately these kinds of changes, while disruptive, are typically very rare.
  2. A correction to Cloud Drive Mapper’s Azure AD permissions that was causing invalid consent messages, or preventing managed drive from mapping
  3. Additional logging for the ‘manage my drive’ feature to improve troubleshooting
